Spice up your Btech degree with a diploma in Cyber Security at DU

First batch of DU’s PG diploma course in cyber security and law to begin on August 20, reports Charu Narula

Institute of Cyber Security and Law started in 2017 by University of Delhi (DU) will soon begin its first batch offering post graduate diploma in cyber security and law. The diploma programme aims at training students to tackle the increasing cybercrime, will have its classes started on August 20 at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Rohini.

The main focus of the course is to train students towards secure digitisation and control cyber threats. Sunaina Kanojia, officer on special duty (OSD) at the Institute said the diploma aims at producing professionals who can create safe virtual platform in various sectors. “The programme offers knowledge in niche domain of cyber security and law. The course would prepare professionals to identify and handle vulnerabilities in a computer, system, network, or any other communication network of any kind used by an organisation or individuals in the cyberspace.”

The course also includes hands-on training to give practical knowledge to the students. Students will learn about possible technical loopholes and acquire proficiency in reverse-penetration.

“This course will train students about the attack as well as defence methods needed by organisations to increase the safety and vulnerability ratio,” adds Kanojia. 

Guest lectures will be delivered by academicians, cyber law and security experts, while, certificate will be issued once the students pass the final semester, informed Chetan, programme coordinator.


Graduates or masters’ in science with physics and chemistry, IT, mathematics, engineering in technology (computer science/ electronics/ electronics and communication, information technology). BCA, MCA, BTech and MTech students can also apply. The admissions will be based on the merit drawn from the marks obtained in graduation followed by personal interview.

Job Opportunities:

After the completion of the programme, students can work as:

security auditors, security analysts, security develop, incident responder, cryptographer, forensics expert, security consultant, security engineer, security manager.
