Posted on Monday, August 7, 2017

As new developments are now easily dispersed, business is essentially data-related, placing courses such as a post-graduate diploma in business analytics, much in demand. Aditi Guha reports

The post-graduate diploma in business analytics (PGDBA) is a tri-institute business analytics programme led by IIM Calcutta (IIM-C), IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata. Students are required to undergo the course in these three institutes for a semester each. While the coursework at IIM-C focuses on the application of analytics in functional areas, ISI brings to the table its expertise in statistical and machine-learning theories for analytics. Innovative in its nature due to the unique marriage of resources from these leading institutions, this course is executed in a complimentary fashion that allows for more exposure. It is designed by the industry and students spend a six-month semester working on a credit-earning industry project after three semesters of classes influenced by input from some of the world’s leading companies. The first semester is spent at ISI Kolkata, the second at IIT Kharagpur and the third at IIM Calcutta.
