NUS is the oldest and the biggest (in terms of student population) university in Singapore. In the 2006 THES - QS World University Rankings, the National University of Singapore ranked 19th in the world, and 2nd in Asia. Situated on the West Coast of Singapore, this University was founded in 1980 by a merger of the University of Singapore and Nanyang University. NUS offers 27 single-degree undergraduate and 115 masters, doctoral and graduate diploma programmes conducted by 13 faculties. The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) is one of the largest Faculties in the University.
The college is bustling with activity clubs - right from community and spiritual clubs to drama and toastmasters. The college has magnificent lecture clubs and many great lecturers. NSU also has various exchange programmes with some of the world class institutions, like Stanford, IIMs, MIT, IITs etc. The college has five libraries, well equipped with books on a range of subjects. NSU is also known for exceptional sporting infrastructure. Here you may find yourself drawn to serious (and a variety of) sports – from water polo to cricket.
The whole university is located in the same campus, and you can expect a variety offered – from Vietnamese to Western and from MacDonald's and Burger King. By the Singaporean standards the food is pretty inexpensive. There are seven canteens dotting the campus. Some canteens are open right through the morning hours.
Most students welcome, and some are even thrilled, by the unisex hostel arrangement of co-habitation. Hostels are well equipped by with facilities ranging from common rooms with televisions to laundry rooms with dryers. Rooms of various budgets exist but all are well furnished and average in size. Some rooms have air conditioner installed and some even have attached toilets.
This largest and best-known institute of higher education offers great facilities. A great institution to graduate from which again doesn’t cost you a fortune. If you find yourself financially stretched, you can apply for the SIA-NOL scholarship that covers all your tuition expenses and provides an ample living stipend.
NUS College in India

The University’s first overseas college for graduate students, the NCBA programme is designed to expose NUS students to new developments in IT, science and technology in the city considered the Silicon Valley of India.
