An online platform has been created for this course that will make reading materials, video lectures and presentations available to address all kinds of curiosities of students.
“Through the task of engaging with laws concerning animal protection, we hope to create better sensibilities among the youth,” says Mukherjee, who is course coordinator of the programme. “Anyone interested in learning about the legal aspects of animal protection can apply. Government officials and common public alike through this course can understand the gravity behind animal laws and ensure they are equipped to tackle concerns of animal cruelty in the right manner,” says NG Jayasimha, director of Animal Law Centre, who plans to have need-based scholarships for the programme.
The programme will commence by the end of August. The last date for the admission of the course is August 10.
