Odisha govt to involve alumni and parents to contribute in the growth of state’s colleges

The higher education department, the government of Odisha is planning to introduce ‘Mo College’ (my college) initiative wherein alumni of various colleges and universities, as well as parents, can contribute to the development of the institutes.
 
This initiative has been planned as per the ‘Mo School’ initiative of the state’s Department of School and Mass Education.
 
State higher education minister Arun Kumar Sahoo said that the initiative was taken to enhance the higher education system in Odisha by involving alumni and parents to contribute in the development of the colleges and universities. He informed this while replying to an adjournment motion in the state assembly on the absence of state-run varsities from the best 100 higher education institutes in India.
 
The state government was also criticised for having large vacant posts of faculties in colleges and universities.
