Applications invited for scholarship to study Mathematics

Online applications have been invited by the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) for the grant of scholarships to students pursuing studies leading to a master’s degree in Mathematics.
Shortlisted candidates will receive a scholarship of Rs6,000 per month, during the two year period of the postgraduate programme (or the final two years of the five-year integrated masters programme).
The scholarships are given for one year at a time and are renewable at the end of the year, subject to satisfactory progress. Students selected for the award of the scholarship when in the final year of the MA/MSc or five-year integrated masters programme will receive their scholarship for only one year.
To avail the scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a recognised postgraduate (including integrated five-year masters) programme in Mathematics. The scholarship will be disbursed through the student’s institution.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test followed by an interview. Candidates will be short-listed for the interview based on the performance in the written test. The written examination will be conducted at Chandigarh, New Delhi, Srinagar, Indore, Jabalpur, Prayagraj, Raipur, Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Ranchi, Shillong, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad on October 19.
